New album??? (Question for Mr. Chevron)

Post Sun Sep 11, 2005 4:10 pm

Phil, obviously last years brilliant tour and now this year's quite clear proves that the Pogues still have a huge following. Are there any plans to take it one step further and record a new studio album given that Shane is apparently doing a lot of writing now and the fact that his work/gigs with the popes is fizzling out??? Thanks, Keith..

What are the chances of any NEW pogues material

Post Tue Sep 27, 2005 11:29 pm

Has the band considered doing any new studio material? Am I living in a dream world... I know everyone has their own projects - but is that not a possibility- even as a one off track? :?:

or No - at present? If MacGowan comes up with a half a dozen decent songs and wants to go into the studio, you would hope the others would write some songs and join him. I bet the money's there. The audience certainly is. What can be said for sure, is that Shane and the Popes are presently estranged and the Pogues reunion in gaining pace. Fingers crossed all this working together will lead them to the studio door. Chances of it ever happening? My guess 50/50 :)

You can never say never.
In the late nineties you would have said the chances of them Touring was nil....

It is likely safest to say:

At this time there are no announced plans for new material. While this situation is not expected to change it is worthwhile to remember that the future is nebulous.
