Seriously though, I can't wait for the 10th. I honestly can't remember the last time I was this excited about a concert. Probably when I saw Pantera back in 2001 (I know, I know). I'm counting the days.

About $100,000. Make the cheque out to P. Chevron Esq. for convenience sake.

Esq. eh? Very impressive.

Thanks for the reply. I just wanted to say how excited I am to see you guys play, though if I had an extra $100,000 kicked around...

So fornicate. I can't make it to the shows this year. For a while we thought we could make it to Portland or Seattle, but no go. Can't afford the trip, can't find babysitter, etc etc etc. I really think my wife tried to work out a scenario where we would be able to make it, but it just isn't in the cards this year.

Oh well, next time for sure. Have fun those of you who are going.

Hey Sportin', I remember those days of being tied down with the young ones. My advice is enjoy this time of their life with them while you can because they grow up fast. Before you know it you will be rid of the diaper genie and bottle warmer and yes , mobile again. You will be taken those kids to Pogues shows in no time...

Mr Chevron,

A few rumours rolling around the facebook crowd. I was hoping you could put them to rest.

1) Is there any possibility of another New Orleans show? Like a good size club maybe a headline show after the big voodoo festival?

2) I know you don't get involved much in band mates outside doings but word is Shane is joining with Bono and others in NYC @ Carnegie Hall this Sunday?

3rd and what may be most unlikely, There are rumours about an appearance @ Australians NZ/Big Day Out Festival http://libel.co.nz/news_items/230
This article states a The Pogues Facebook page announcing you may be appearing there. I assure you this did not come from the page I Admin.

Apparently I found the answer to question #2. Shane will be at Carnegie Hall Sunday along with a host of others.

There is absolutely zero chance of a second NOLA show. The evening before, Hallowe'en, some of us have social engagements and the day after, we are all booked on return flights to the UK, Ireland and Los Angeles.

We are routinely sought for shows like Big Day Out but the offers are not even brought to our notice until our management and agency have satisfied themselves that the offer is worth our attention. So far, this has not happened in respect of any upcoming shows Down Under, which is not to say discussions are not taking place, just that the band is not party to such pre-negotiations if they are in progress at all.

Looks like a strong Carnegie Hall bill. Gavin's a good lad, I'm sure it'll be a great show.

As always Mr C thank you for the information. I thought the NOLA gig was far fetched unless it was a suprise Halloween bash somewhere, usually too much going on already in the Big Easy at that time of year especially since this year Halloween will fall on a weekend. Wish I could get to Carnegie Hall Sunday but with the upcoming Bruce shows and The NY Food and Wine festival, and God of Carnage, I think the wife would kill me if I throw another event in there. Finally per FB the Aussie crowd holds out hope. Greatly appreciate you putting those items to rest. Thank you again.

Just for the sake of pedantry...

No, Rich. The article does NOT say the rumor came from The Pogues' Facebook page. It says that it came from Rise Against's Facebook page and even goes so far as to link to that FB page (http://www.facebook.com/riseagainst?ref ... 3587298..1).

I'm starting to think I may be dyslexic. Or maybe I can attribute it to the time. It was around 3am that I was reading this. I had to fininsh up some work so I could take today off for the opening night of The Boss in NJ. I get a little protective of the FB page since I have a special hate of those who run rumour sites that pump up fans only to lead them to disappointment. DzM thanks for pointing it out. Now that I re-read it I see this other band said something on their FB page. Well it's a chilly Autumn day and i'm beat from staying up too late. Time to go tailgate for 5 hours or so before the show. Should be an interesting change. Bruce is playing entire albums in each show, tonight it's Born to Run. Thanks again DzM.

Wish the boys would hit the shores of Lake Erie in Cleveland or Akron, Ohio. Missed St. Patty's Day show in Beantown and friends are seeing them in Tempe Arizona, but somewhere in the mix, Ohio got left out. Tell me it ain't so, there not coming to Ohio???

It's my understanding they've landed Rufus Wainwright for these fall shows, Shane can't stand the chill...

I am so looking forward to the encore being done with all the band participating in proper Rufus burlesque style...
