Acceptable forum behavior

These fora are a gathering place for fans of The Pogues (and The Pogues' solo/other projects). Normal standards of civilized discourse are expected here. If you feel that a post in some way violates the guidelines presented here and is not being addressed by a Moderator/Admin/Janitor, make use of the "Report Post" feature (the exclamation point icon on the upper-right corner of each post). Describe why you feel action should be taken against the post. Here is a brief (though certainly not all-inclusive) list of behaviors that we consider actionable:

Personal Attacks
Personal attacks against another member is a not-tolerated behavior. A personal attack can cover a broad spectrum, and the line where good-humored banter ends and abusive behavior begins can move. Be respectful of your fellow fora dwellers and their religions, races, lifestyles, etc. Use your best judgment. The community will tell you if you've gone over the line.

Off-Topic Discussion
These forums exist for a more-or-less specific subject. They are not for free-association stream of consciousness babble. While any conversation can move widely afield while running its course, corrective measures will be taken against conversations that clearly have nothing to do with the topic they're posted under or are wildly off-topic for these fora.

Any abuse of private means of communication to harass another member is strictly prohibited. Abuse of this type will absolutely not be tolerated.

Spam links
Posting of off-topic commercial links or links that violate the Terms of Service of the site on the other end will be deleted without notice. Frequent violation will result in corrective measures described below.

Swapping of bootlegged material
A forum exists here for the discussion of bootlegs, but it may NOT be used to arrange the swapping of materials. Please see the FAQ of that specific forum for more detail.

All registered users implicitly agreed to these terms (or an earlier form of them, now superseded by these) at registration:
You agree not to post any abusive, obscene, vulgar, slanderous, hateful, threatening, sexually-orientated or any other material that may violate any laws be it of your country, the country where “The Medusa Fora” is hosted or International Law. Doing so may lead to you being immediately and permanently banned, with notification of your Internet Service Provider if deemed required by us. The IP address of all posts are recorded to aid in enforcing these conditions. You agree that “The Medusa Fora” have the right to remove, edit, move or close any topic at any time should we see fit. As a user you agree to any information you have entered to being stored in a database. While this information will not be disclosed to any third party without your consent, neither “The Medusa Fora” nor phpBB shall be held responsible for any hacking attempt that may lead to the data being compromised.

Guest users are also bound by these terms.

We rely on the larger community of members (or individually wronged members in the case of private harassment) to notify moderators of problems. Repeat infractions of these guidelines will result in an account being "locked" while the member is privately given an opportunity to defend their activities. If an understanding is reached then the account will be returned to an "active" status. An inability to work out differences will result in an account being banned. If further abuse results from the same computer additional punitive actions will result, including but not limited to banning of IP address and/or IP subnet, abuse reports to the user's ISP, etc.
